the poets got gay married in autumn

Emma Johnson-Rivard

can you make wine from a sunflower?
sure. the seeds roast well. pair with salt.

she wove moss into a veil,
melted down the promised ring.
love, she said
won't you?

and i did.

remember our gravestone dance, our
gravestone love, we
married there. ghosts watched. she
planted in her shoes a garden. love

it grew from her steps,
our dance.
